Find A Pet

A note from his former family: “Mike is house broken uses dog doorbell but has occasional accidents if not pottied every two hours when out of crate and within 15 minutes of meals. When he goes out he usually goes twice, so let him walk a little and he will go again and will not have accidents.
He is crate trained 8 hours over night and naps during the day without accidents.
Smart, fast learner and is praise and food motivated. Gives awesome eye contact and looks to people for direction when unsure or insecure. He is a happy, healthy, energetic puppy that loves to play fetch and hide and seek.
Moderate prey drive for cats that run. We do have a skittish cat and he will chase him if he runs but wags tail while trotting after him and has never shown aggression towards cats. Cat obviously is not a fan. He is always happy to see them and one of our cats really likes him and will rub all over him and he licks her ears and face in return.
Mike and our standard poodle puppy can not find the space to get along. Mike has shown some bullying behavior nothing serious yet but he has a dominate personality while our poodle is easy going and is irritated with Mike’s behavior. Despite training and separation Mike likes to tackle our other pup, steal his treats, toys and push him out of the way when drinking or receiving attention. Our other puppy concedes. We love Mike but see this as unhealthy for both dogs and is resulting in aggression from the other puppy towards cats he has had a well established sweet relationship.
Mike is a very good puppy and we hate to give him up but recognize that we are not able to give home he deserves. We think he would do well with another confident dog our as an only dog. He is sweet with people seeks attention and gives affection. He has had limited exposure to children but has always been appropriate.
He would most likely be an awesome hunting dog. He is very attentive, loves to fetch and play hide and seek with toys and is an exceptionally fast learner. He would like to have a job.”

All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of the adoption.
Our website is always kept 100% up to date with who is currently available. As soon as animals are adopted, they are moved to the Adopted Pets page so if they are still listed on the Adoptable Dogs or Cats page, they are still available. So keep any eye on the site for any animals being added as available for adoption as new animals are added everyday! We would recommend if you haven’t done so already that you submit a general online adoption application with us so it is on file for when you are ready to come out and adopt. The adoption counselors will be able to show you many that would be a good fit for your family. Animal House Shelter can not guarantee breed or breed mix of our adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as a breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. We also can not guarantee the ages of our adoptable animals or how large puppies will be when fully grown.
Please fill out an online adoption application. Visit our ‘Adopt’ page to view adoption process steps, policies, requirements and FAQ. View our ‘Visit’ page for hours and directions to our shelter. We look forward to seeing you soon!
